The Suzuki Alto is widely recognized as the most cost-effective hatchback for local commuting. Its affordability, excellent fuel efficiency, and compact design make it perfect for maneuvering through narrow city streets and parking in tight spaces. It has consistently been the preferred choice among middle-class buyers and remains Suzuki’s top-selling model.
In a surprising turn of events, the latest report from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) indicates a shift in sales trends. Despite Alto’s usual dominance, the Suzuki Swift has emerged as the top performer in May. Swift sales spiked by an impressive 118%, with 714 units sold compared to 328 in April 2024.

Overall, Pak Suzuki sold 6,010 vehicles in May 2024, slightly up from 6,000 units in April. The breakdown includes 4,062 units of Alto, along with sales of other models like the Suzuki Cultus, Suzuki Wagon R, Suzuki Bolan, and Suzuki Ravi.
The PAMA report highlights a 4% month-on-month increase in car sales, totaling 10,949 vehicles compared to 10,515 in April 2024. Year-on-year, there’s been a significant 100% surge, attributed in part to currency stability favoring car manufacturers in Pakistan. This growth contrasts sharply with last year’s sales figure of 5,464 vehicles during the same period.

Pak Suzuki’s motorcycle segment experienced a modest 1% rise, with sales climbing to 1,696 units in May 2024 from 1,684 in April.
